Solution To Fix Runtime Error 438 in Excel:

1. MS Office Version Supporting Issue:

This error occur when the user try to work with the outdated macro function of older version of MS Office in the latest version of MS Office.

To fix this issue, you should use your macro in the respective version of MS Office application.

2. Check The Coding:

As this error occurs when the user attempt to run the macro which Excel objects doesn’t support property or method.

Hence to solve this, user should check or rewrite the coding in the VBA module. If you have less knowledge of programming then you should contact to the Microsoft Advisory Services.

 3. Uninstall Microsoft Works Add-in:

For this, first you should go to the Start menu and then you should click on Settings option and then select Control Panel. After this, you have to click on the Add / Remove Programs. Then just click on the File Location which is there in the Options. Now from Uninstall/Install tab, you should choose the add-in suit i.e Word in Works. After this, just click on the Add/Remove option. Here, you should follow all the instructions. At last, just restart your PC and try to load Microsoft Word again.

4. Uninstall Windows Antivirus Software:

 For this, first you should open the control panel of your PC. After this, just double-click on Add/Remove Programs. Then you should choose the antivirus program which you wish to uninstall from your Computer. Now, just tap on the Remove or Change/Remove option. Follow the instructions to remove antivirus program and then restart your PC.

5. Reinstall The Device Drivers:

For this, first you should go to your system taskbar and then just click on the start button. Then you will view a search box, and in this box, you should type device manager. From the search result, you should choose the Device Manager. After this, you should right-click on the device name which you want to uninstall and then you should select the Uninstall option. When you uninstall the device, then you should restart your PC. Here, you will see the Windows will try for driver reinstallation.

6. Resolve Corruption Issue:

 To repair and restore corrupt Excel file, you should use Excel Repair Tool which will easily repaire the damaged excel file. It scans the excel files without making any kind of changes to the original content of the worksheet.
