What happens if my Microsoft 365 account is locked and I don't have a recovery email?

Microsoft accounts can be blocked for a variety of reasons, including multiple incorrect login attempts. Nobody can sign in to a locked Office 365 account. To gain access to the account, you must first authenticate and verify your credentials.

If you don't have a recovery email, a series of steps will help you regain access to your account. But before doing this, be sure to read these tips to make the account recovery process run more smoothly:

When restoring your account, use a computer that you previously signed in with. Computer IP addresses are recognized by Microsoft.

The Microsoft questions may or may not apply to you. As several questions as possible should be answered. It is preferable to make an educated guess and get closer than leaving a question unanswered.

The requested email must be a working email. MS will not use this email for marketing purposes. The sole purpose of this e-mail is to inform you of the result of your recovery letter.

Fill out the account recovery form if you need to reclaim your account.

The Office 365 recovery form consists of a series of questions about your account, including details that MS believes are known to the actual administrator or organization of the account. The following steps must be taken:

  • Go to office.com/myaccount and fill out the form.
  • Enter the details for the account that you want to restore.
  • Have a valid email address that MS can contact you at.
  • Check the email address with a code sent to this address.
  • You will receive a series of questions about yourself and your account. Fill in as many details as possible for a more detailed assessment of the situation.
  • Fill out and submit the recuperation form.
