- Use Open And Repair function:
In this, you have to open Microsoft Excel and then click on Office button and then select Open option. Now in the dialog box, you have to select the corrupted Excel file. Go to the temp file folder location in your computer and then you have to find the Excel temp files with TMP extension.

C:\Users\name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel\
After this, you have to find the temporary excel files which begin with “$” or “~” and end with “.TMP”. You just have to copy those files and save it to another place and also change the extension from .TMP to .XLS/.XLSX.
4: Recover Corrupted Excel File Through Previous Version:
For this, you have to create a new Excel file with the name of your lost Excel file. Then you have to right-click on Excel file and then choose Properties option. Now go to the older Versions, and then select the correct version and just you have to click on Restore. After this, you have to open it and save it in a new Excel workbook. Then you should re-open the file in HTML and just save it again in XLS format. At the end, open and save the file in SLK format.
5: Enable Auto Backup Feature:
For this, you have to click on the File tab. After this, click on the ‘Save As’ option. Now you have to click on the Browse to open ‘Save As’ box. Now in the Save As dialog box, you have to click on Tools option. Then hit on the ‘General Options’. Here in the general options dialog box, you have to click on the ‘Always Create Backup’. After this, click OK button and then Save the file in the folder.
