After this, you should go to the Design tab and, in the Page Background group, you have to select Watermark.  To design a watermark, you have to select Custom Watermark. Here you can customize the watermark font, size, color, and layout. Basically, the watermark is semi-transparent by default.  If you want to make the watermark easily visible then you have to clear the Semi Transparent checkbox. In case, you want to apply the watermark to all pages of the document, then you have to select OK button. Then you will see the watermark text displays on the Word document. In case, you cannot be able to view the text watermark, then go to the View tab and just select Print Layout.

How to Insert an Image Watermark in MS Word?

For this, you have to open the Word document in which you want to add a watermark. Here, you have to go to the View tab and then just select Print Layout. After this, just go to the Design tab and, in the Page Background group, you have to select Watermark. Now you should select Custom Watermark. After this, in the Printed Watermark dialog box, you should select Picture watermark. Here you should choose Select Picture. Now in the Insert Pictures dialog box, you have to select the location of the image in which you want to use. After this, just you have to choose the picture which you want to use as the watermark, and then just select Insert option. Now in the Printed Watermark dialog box, you have to select OK option to apply the watermark to all pages in the Word document.  Here, you will view the picture watermark in the displays in the Word document.
