Ready Boost Can Help You Improve Your Performance:

The internal memory is what allows processors to process. You should determine how much RAM your system has and how much is being used. These information can be found in Task Manager. www.office.com/setup

To use ReadyBoost

ReadyBoost allows you to use a removable drive (such as a USB flash drive) to increase your computer's performance, without having to open your computer or add more memory (RAM). ReadyBoost requires a USB flash drive, or a memory stick with at least 500 MB of free space and high data transfer rates. For more detail about ReadyBoost,

Windows installed on a solid-state drive (SSD) won't work with ReadyBoost. The SSD drive is already fast enough and ReadyBoost will not improve the SSD's performance.

  • The USB flash drive can be plugged into the USB port of your computer.
  • Select File Explorer from the taskbar
  • Hold the USB flash drive or SD card and click on it (or right-click it). Then select Properties.
  • Select the ReadyBoost tab and then choose Use This Device.

Windows checks if your device is eligible for ReadyBoost. Windows will display a message if ReadyBoost is not available.

  • After Windows has determined how much memory space is available for optimization, you can select OK and reserve it so that ReadyBoost can access it.

Increase performance by changing the paging files size

Windows uses the paging area of your hard drive as memory. Your PC's performance can be improved by increasing the size of your paging files. office.com/myaccount
