Change the time zone settings on different computers

For changing the time zone settings of associated computers, create and then insert a registry file that includes all updated time zone registry modifications. Once you have done this, use Group Policy or another distribution method to install the registry file on your computer.

Follow These Steps To Do This:

  • Enter "Notepad" into the search box and hit "Enter".
  • Duplicate "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Time Zones" into the "Notepad" document.
  • Click "Save as" (to be found under the "File") section.
  • In the open file box, type "TZupdate.reg".Once you're done, select a destination to save the file.
  • Click on all files that are visible in the "Save As Type" box.
  • To save all settings, press "Save".

You must reorganize the above steps in two places. The "TZupdate.reg file" will bring up the most current time zone records in your registry. You must then write up the Time Zone Information registry key to the existing control set. You can store this write-up using Group Policy or another deployment method.

After recognizing the current time zone on the computer, the script reloads Time Zone Information registry key and the reorganized information from time zone database. The script ends by marking the event in the Application register for the computer it was executed.

  • Change the time zone setting for a single computer
