How Microsoft Adds More Power Into Computing?

Microsoft has taken a huge leap forward in the realm of technology-driven computing and claims it can aid in the solving process of complex scientific advancements. Microsoft has appointed an entirely new team that will focus on a variety of issues encountered in computing, including switching high-end computing to cloud applications and more. This leap into the complex technology of advanced computing was revealed on the website of Microsoft via its web site.

The newly established team planning to create an entire different market with Microsoft's upcoming operating system called Windows Azure. The team will be responsible for high-end computing as well as a variety of innovative products for Windows.

We really believe technical computing is going to be the killer app for the cloud. In a reference to top-of-the-line computers, he declared, "They gobble up compute power. They require huge quantities of information.". Microsoft has for years used Windows HPC Server, which is a cluster computing edition of Windows Server.

The main goal of this team is to develop new kinds of software that can be useful to engineers, scientists and data analysts. Muglia declared, "Our development efforts will produce new, simple-to-use tools as well as applications to can automate data acquisition, modeling simulation, visualization, workflow , and collaboration. This will enable them to focus more doing their job and less time dealing with complex technology."

The biggest challenge every business faces is the change in the method in which software has to be designed for the parallel execution of tasks via computers, servers, and processor cores. In response to this challenge, Muglia states, "Parallel programs are extremely difficult to write, test and trouble shoot." Muglia also states, "Today, computers are shipping with more processing power than ever, including multiple cores, but most modern software only uses a small amount of the available processing power."

The new team of Microsoft have been working on HPC Server and have also added the capability of simultaneous computing to Visual Studio. Microsoft now has a broad scope and will soon be available with beta versions and demonstrations of the latest tools to help developers create code versions that are able to run in various configurations, including laptops, clusters, and even on the cloud. They will also provide users with developers with tools and other horizontal tools that are required by scientists from different industries.
