Office 365 for the new MacBook with Apple M1:

Apple launched its eagerly awaited and highly anticipated product for 2020, and possibly 2021.

Apple is placing huge bets upon its new processor, and is also putting a lot faith in its M1 chips, which were developed on the Silicon Valley campus. Apple is sticking to the MacBooks' original design and changing only the internals. Microsoft office is one the most popular software programs on the market. People want to be sure that the new MacBook will work with the office before they buy it. It will work with it, but it won't be compatible. We will be looking at the compatibility of these M1 Chips with Microsoft Office.

We tested a MacBook Air with an 8GB RAM and M1 (2020) processor. We used office.com's office subscription to download office 365. Next, we used www.office.com/setup on our MacBook to create the office. After the Office had been downloaded, we opened the file from the Office installation folder on our MacBook Air M1. Office 365 now known as Microsoft 365 is 1.5 GB to download. We had a fairly good internet connection and the MacBook Air M1 ran at a speed that was up to the network standards.

The installation was straightforward and normal. The installation process will start once the guide is complete. It will take approximately 3/5 minutes on the new MacBook Air M1 depending on which software you choose.

Before we started our Microsoft Office testing, we ran the activity monitor. We kept it open during testing. This will assist us in the system process, and it will also allow us to see how much memory is being used by Office applications.

TESTING

Opening Word was successful. There was no spike in CPU activity, or in any other activity in Activity Monitor. Opening the word was easy and quick. The launch of this application scored 100% for the MacBook Air M1. We began with a new document. We used Microsoft Word with a zoomed in view. Although there wasn't much effect on the CPU, work on the word went smoothly and Microsoft Office 365 Word performed well. We opened PowerPoint to increase the CPU's performance. The effect was not significant, so the CPU is fine. The presentation was made while Word was open. Even after the presentation, it did not have any effect on the CPU. We also opened Microsoft 365 Applications and decided to multitask. The effect on the CPU was minimal. Microsoft Office isn't very heavy software but it can be quite large on low-config machines. The MacBook M1 chips are capable of doing what they can. We tried pushing the MacBook Air M1 once more by opening Outlook and Excel, and even playing a YouTube video in the background. However, we were still at 9% Ram Usage. The software and programs were fast and smooth.

The MacBook air is a great choice if you plan to work in an office environment and have no other options but to use your laptop to surf the web and use the office. The Macbook pro M1 is a great choice if you need a laptop capable of rendering other software and doing photoshop. These two laptops are very fast with multitasking and have excellent process management. We hope you find it easier to make your decisions. Stay Updated at office.com/setup.
