The causes of this problem are if Protected view is enabled, if location of the file is not added to trust list, if in case the file is located in synchronized folder, and also if the file is blocked.

  1. Disable Protected Views:

You should open Outlook and then just click on File from the ribbon bar which is located at the top of the screen. Now from the File menu, you should click on Options which is at the bottom of the vertical menu present in the left-hand side of the screen. When you are in PowerPoint Options menu, then you should select Trust Center from the left-hand side pane. Here in the Trust Center menu, you should move over to the right-hand side and then just click on Trust Center Settings. From the Trust Center menu, you should select Protected Views from the left-hand side. After this, move to the right side and then uncheck every box linked with every Protected View condition. At the end, click on Ok button to save the changes and restart your PowerPoint application.

  1. Add Location of the File To Trust List:

Just open PowerPoint and then click on File from the ribbon menu which is at the top of the screen. Now from the vertical menu, you should click on Options. Then from the PowerPoint Options menu, you should click on Trust Center from the vertical menu. Here you should move to the right-hand menu and then click on Trust Center Settings. Now from the Trust Center menu, you should select Trusted Location. After this, move to the right menu and then click on Add new location. Here from the Microsoft Office Trusted Location window, you should click on Browse and then just go to the location where you have stored the file. At this point, click on OK option to add the new trusted location. At last, just restart your PowerPoint application. www.office.com/setup

  1. Unblock The File:

For this, you should right-click on the file .pptx file which has issues and then you should choose Properties. Now in the Properties screen of your file, you should go to the General tab and then click on the Unblock button. Then, you have to click on Apply option to save the changes. At last, you should open the .pptx file and check the issue has been resolved or not.

  1. Move File Out From Synchronized Folder:

You should go to the synchronized directory in which you have stored the file. Then right-click on the file and after this, select Cut. Or you can press Ctrl + X key together. After this, you should go to regular directory and then right-click on the empty space. Or you can press Ctrl + V. Now, you have to open the file with your PowerPoint application and check the issue has been resolved or not.
